Fresno Fashion

December 30, 2010 § Leave a comment

The shopping in Fresno just keeps getting better and better. I know we haven’t focused a ton on Fresno Fashion, but that’s something we want to dive into a lot more in 2011.

Most of the following outfit is from a local Fresno Boutique in Fig Garden Village called Dom Blu. The owner, Michael Blu is a buddy of ours. He’s such a great guy! He is always hosting some kinda fun event at his store. He originally opened Dom Blu as a men’s boutique, but then he made the switch and finally added women’s clothing to the mix. Needless to say, I was thrilled.

Dom Blu Buys…
Threads for Thought Organic Tee
Fergie Zip Up Boots
Chinese Laundry Handbag

Headband- Handmade by Moi (could you see it’s a Heart?!)
Suitcase- Fresno Thrifted

Tights- Target

Happy Shopping, Fresno!

Wassssssssabi !!!!!

November 18, 2010 § Leave a comment

You’ve been there, right? They yell “Wassssssabi” or “What’s up” at you and then you feel really uncomfortable while you stand there waiting for a table. But it’s all good fun.

This place is good. In fact, they won a Best of Fresno award for “Best Sushi Bar” And someone else very special won, too! My hubby, Chance James for Best Artist and Best Photo Studio!!!

Sorry, I’m a proud wife… I had to plug that.

Anyway, before Chance and I had the studio downtown we were located in Fig Garden and we basically went to Wassabi 3 times a week for lunch. Speaking of lunch, their lunch specials are AWESOME! You can pick two entrée items, plus soup, salad, rice, and a drink (even a beer!) all for 10$!!! It’s their Lunch Box special. It’s phe-nom.

I always eat way too super fast, so this is my only picture. I know, I’m so lame!

It’s really important that we support local businesses. And that brings me to my next point. The Fresno Bee’s People’s Choice Awards for 2011!! I know, we have to vote again?! Yes you do, folks. Let’s give people the recognition they deserve.

Happy Thursday, everyone!

Stella Laguna Beach

Stelllllllllllaaaaaa!!! (I had to)

In the last couple of years there has been some major movement on the Fresno Fashion seen. Boutique shopping has been creeping in and I have to say I am a huge fan.

If you haven’t checked out Stella Laguna Beach, I’m not sure what you’re waiting for. Stella is an extremely current and fresh boutique. In my humble opinion it’s the perfect mix of affordable and trendy without looking cheap. The store has a really chill vibe that’s not trying too hard but still brings the style.

I’ve got a little bit of a sugar hangover, so I felt like I needed a little bit of Monday afternoon shopping to pick me up. I love perusing this spot. They always have new stuff to check out and for some reason the stuff all reminds me of what the Kardashian’s wear and I happen to think their the amazing (guilty pleasure alert).

Ok, so if you’re like me then all of that is great, but you need a bargain. Well you heard it here first I Heart Fresno readers. They are having a HUGE 50% off sale.

When I stopped in today, the gals told me they had just marked down a few racks of stuff. Plus, they’re running a buy 2 get one free deal on all tops. Seriously, they’re prices are REALLY reasonable, so you don’t necessarily need it to shop there, but a little incentive never hurt anyone. If you want to check them out you can head over to one of their two location at the Villagio shopping center and Fig Garden Village.

I was in a rush, but I will DEFINITELY be going back for this little number. SO cute.

Farmer’s Market

September 9, 2010 § 7 Comments

One of my favorite, favorite, favorite things to do in Fresno is to visit all the different Farmer’s Markets.  We grow so many yummy fruits and veggies in the Central Valley and I love that I can go somewhere and support local farmers and local business. I also love the feeling I get as I walk around the different booths while I smell all the fresh produce.  I know it sounds cheesy, but I feel closer to the community and closer to mother earth. I think this is how we’re suppose to live, but hey…that’s just me.

I thought it would be fun to post a video blog this time…you know, to switch things up a bit.

Here’s a list of the Farmer’s Markets around town that I frequent. If you know of any others please fill us in!

Enjoying one of Fresno’s Dog Parks. This one is located in a cute Old Fig neighborhood on Holland right off of Palm between Ashlan and Gettysburg.
